\u0026nbsp;This flower that can grow just about anywhere, I guess, it is better than even a store bought dozen of roses. \u0026nbsp;My daughter stopped long enough, while in the process of telling me about her day, to pick a flower to give to me, that is something that she has not outgrown, and I hope she never does! It was late evening, almost dark, but we had a good time!  The kids played football and I took pictures while they made memories. \u003Cbr \/\u003E\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\nI also got a photo that evening of Easter lilies growing in our yard. \/\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E\u003C\/center\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nWell...our power went out, but only overnight, so that was a good thing that it wasn't any longer than that!\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nThe kids were okay with it though because they got to build a snowman\u0026nbsp;(and a few photos\u0026nbsp;are in the \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/insideofjessicaslilcorner.blogspot.com\/2013\/01\/snow-january-2013.html\"\u003EMembers Area\u003C\/a\u003E of their fun time in the snow\/getting ready to play in the snow)!\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Ccenter\u003E\n\u003C\/center\u003E\nWe also made tasty treats after the power came back on (we made fudge and wontons...this was my first attempt at wontons, and the kids loved them)!\u0026nbsp; The wontons have a cream cheese and green onion mixture inside of the cooked wonton wraps.\u0026nbsp; Yummy!\u0026nbsp; :)\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr Church that we have been attending.\u0026nbsp; They took friends and they all learned even more about God and had fun while doing so.\u0026nbsp; They made crafts, had a program, and they each received awards for \u003Cem\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"color: #38761d;\"\u003EPerfect Attendance\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/em\u003E and for bringing a friend!!\u0026nbsp; The kids also thought it was pretty fun that a member of the Church who also helped host the\u003Cem\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"color: #38761d;\"\u003E VBS\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/em\u003E offered to dress up like a clown if at least a certain number of kids knew their \u003Cem\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"color: #38761d;\"\u003EBible \u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/em\u003Ememory verse...and she had to dress up\u0026nbsp;like a very interesting day as well, as she jumped off of the low diving board without any floats for the first time, which I also\u0026nbsp;have a video of, and Troy jumped off of the diving board (including the high diving board), but he still has to have floats at this point, but he still does super, (and I also happen to have a video of that)!!\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nEven at 11 and 8 years old, I realize that my two kids have had many \"firsts\" in their lives (such as first steps, first words, etc.), and even at this age they are still growing and learning.\u0026nbsp; I am so happy to be their Mom and experiencing these firsts, seconds, thirds, and so on and so on with them!!\u0026nbsp; I am definitely blessed to be called their Mom!\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nAnyhow, it was a fun day at the pool this past weekend, marked with another \"milestone\" and even more memories.\u0026nbsp; I am so thankful for the memories that we have created, the ones going on in the area with a\u003Cem\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"color: #38761d;\"\u003E Kids Fishing Day\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/em\u003E and rides and characters for the kids (you can see the picture below of some of the stuff we did, with a photo of Breann, Troy, Troy's friend Jackson, and Mickey and Minnie).\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Ccenter\u003E\u0026nbsp;\u003C\/center\u003E\u003Ccenter\u003EThey had a lot of great prizes during the \u003Cem\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"color: #38761d;\"\u003EKids Fishing Day\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/em\u003E,\u0026nbsp;each of the kids got a ticket where they drew the ticket numbers for the ones with winning tickets to choose something from like bicycles, a fishing pole, tents, etc.\u0026nbsp; For some reason Troy's number was never called, which was a real bummer, but Breann won a bicycle, which we were pretty excited about!!\u0026nbsp; :-) nervous on them...seeing as how she broke her arm on the\u0026nbsp;monkey bars at school when she was in first grade...I must give her room to grow though...after all she is in fifth grade now, time such a great time!!\u0026nbsp; Here is the certificate they received for going to the \u003Cem\u003EVBS\u003C\/em\u003E...but just being able to have them to learn about God and have fun while doing right??\u0026nbsp; Whether its good character or bad character...everyone has some character.\u0026nbsp; My husband and I try really hard to instill good characteristics in our children.\u0026nbsp; And just the other day Breann was selected out of her class for having good character (for responsibility).\u0026nbsp; We try to teach them to be giving, hard working, kind, caring, and loving people.\u0026nbsp; One of the most important things that we are trying to continuously teach our children is to put God first and everything else kinda' just falls into place from there.\u0026nbsp; Although everything else falls into place from there it has to do with the choices that we make...we make good choices then there is a good outcome, we make bad choices then there is a negative outcome, but if we put God first then those choices are easier to make.\u0026nbsp; Are our kids perfect, no...they make their share of mistakes, but that is something that I also think is helping them to become who they are (it is things they can learn from), but what counts is they do their best and are good people.\u0026nbsp; Are me and my husband perfect, nope but we also try our best with what we do and our family believes everything comes with putting God first.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nSome ways we try to teach good character is (like I mentioned earlier in this entry) through giving\u0026nbsp;via various projects such as a \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/jessicaslilcorner.blogspot.com\/search?q=cheerful+giving\" target=\"blank\"\u003EChristmas drive\u003C\/a\u003E we have did for a few years now.\u0026nbsp; But...giving isn't just about at Christmas...we also do it at other times of the year such as with the \u003Ca href=\"http:\/\/jessicaslilcorner.blogspot.com\/2010\/10\/breanns-mathathon.html\" target=\"blank\"\u003E\u003Cem\u003E\u003Cspan style=\"color: #38761d;\"\u003ESt. Jude's Mathathon\u003C\/span\u003E\u003C\/em\u003E\u003C\/a\u003E Breann was involved with and even more ways than that...like even giving to those people who stand outside a local shopping center collecting money for different fundraisers.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nSomething I have even did before is on the drive to school I will tell my kids no matter how large or small that at the end of the day I want them to be able to tell me one nice thing they did to help someone else that day.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nThe way we may show we care is through things such as having the kids help take care of our pets, etc.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nThe way we show love...well that can come pretty easily with such a great family, but God shows loves in so much of a better way than we ever thought we could and through Him we can show it even more than we normally would.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nWhen it comes right down to it...I guess our faith helps us to develop our character.\u0026nbsp; Faith is very important to our family.\u0026nbsp; Breann has sang in church since she was in HeadStart or Pre-K and she still sings now.\u0026nbsp; Both of our kids ask questions to help them when they aren't sure which direction to turn.\u0026nbsp; I guess, it all comes down to faith and following God in developing our character.\u003Cbr \/\u003E\n\u003Cbr \/\u003E\nWhat ways do you help your kids in\u0026nbsp;being a\u0026nbsp;good person (or have good character)...is there projects you do, is there something you do that is significant to helping them becoming and being\u0026nbsp;good
