FUN Summer Days

img7959mWell the kids are out on summer break and I am trying to come up with fun (some inexpensive and some not so inexpensive) things to do while they are on their break.  Today we made iceys which they happen to love.  Its a nice cool treat and something that me and them can do together.

Question: What are some ideas to spend the days of summer break together with your kids?  It can be at home or out on a trip (whether it be going to the local library or something else).  Ideas??

And...now...we have blankets set up outside with the radio going...time to go to what the kids call the Beach Party of the Ages (only without the beach LoL).

Happy Thursday!!  :0)

  1. Thank you Jessica, for the visit, I'm following both of your blogs. I used to take my son to the airport to watch the planes. I don't think your even allowed to do that anymore.

  2. I vividly remember a few summer saturdays when my dad would set up a picnic table in the backyard, hand us menus and play restaurant. It was such a wonderful, fun, whimsical thing I'll never forget! Thank you thank you for stopping by my blog! I'm your happy newest follower.

  3. I want to thank for following me, I am now following back! To answer your question, we use to go for walks/hikes or put the tent up in the yard and 'camp'!

  5. Hi, coming from Acting Balanced Comment hop! For summer fun, we're into swim lessons and a reading program at the library - which I totally forgot this week! oops! But those icy cones remind me to make popsicles - kids like those! I've already had a few days of the "oh boy, it's only 1:30, now what to do?" LOL

  6. When it is really hot, and a trip to the beach is out of the question, my kids love to fill up water balloons and have a water fight. You can even buy these adapters now that attach to your garden hose and have a shut off valve so that you can turn the water off to tie the balloon knot.
I am planning to do some neighborhood scavenger hunts too. I'll make a list of items to find....and off we go to explore and discover.

  8. Oh, those icees look so refreshing. Have you ever put grapes in the freezer? That's another delicious cold treat.

If you were to ask my kids what we did in the summers they would both answer Vacation Bible School. We directed them for other churches and had up to 10 a summer. They loved it.

I hope your summer is full of fun!

  10. They look good! Our summer days are usually a bit more active-hiking or nature walks-but with all these contractions, I'm limited right now. We've been spending lots of time at the park, pool, and library!
