This weekend was...blessed! I was able to visit my Mom on Friday and we also visited my Mother-in-Law Friday evening as well. On Saturday we (my husband, our kids, and I) went out to eat for my Mother's Day dinner, at an italian restaurant. Today we went to church, where the church that we go to gave us moms a card with a CD with Christian music on it and then the kids in Children's Church made bookmarks for us moms.
My kids also made me these great cards (better than any store bought ones, in my opinion)!
Troy's card (first the front, then the inside and then the back):
Breann's Card (front, one side of the inside, and the other side of the inside):
I have been blessed to be able to work at home (in the Customer Service industry) and by being able to work at home I am able to be mommy before being working mommy, and I truly realize what a blessing that is!! Anyhow, I thought I would include here one of my "work day surprises" that I received during this past week.
My daughter, Breann, made me this paper flower (the flower petals are paper but the stem is grass), and gave it to me during my work hours, I just love working at home and it enables me to be mommy before being working mommy, I am so blessed! I realize that not every job will allow a person to stay at home with their kids, but I have really tried to do so with this as well as a lot of my jobs in the past (where I was even able to take them to work with me), and I am so blessed that I am with a company where I can work at home and be a stay at home/work at home mom while I provide my kids the care that they need. And...getting little "work day suprises" like this, makes the evenings that I work even better!
Well the kids had Spring break beginning Easter weekend and lasting through last week. We had so much fun, from playing games to going to the park, to making Easter treats and celebrating Easter, it was great!!
I even surprised them by buying them these cupcakes that read Happy Easter on them, they loved them!
And...the kids made me these Easter cards, I love them!! :-)
The other day Breann made me this drawing and it had the words "I <3 (heart) U Mom!" on it. It is very colorful and each color stood for something and just showed me even more what a great person she is...what a great daughter I have!!
And the decorations have been up (for awhile), the presents are wrapped, and the letters to Santa are written.
Troy's letter he wrote for Santa:
It says:
Dear Santa, I like Rudophs nose it is so cute. I wold love a dirt bike or a wii game a hunting a hunting adventure play kit! Or a grate big truck! Mostly a big real construction kit!
Troy's other letter to Santa (a project that his class did) made the newspaper!!
Troy's letter to Santa that made the newspaper says:
Dear Santa I wold love a dirt bike, 10000000 legos and real construkton. Why does roodof have a red nose? I want a art kit, hunting and fishing for a Wii, computer, pony pupy, remot control car, The end
Love,
Troy
Breann's
This year, Breann's is like a card...
The front of the letter/card:
The front of Breann's card says:
To: Santa Clause From: Breann Open Up with and arrow pointed to Rudolph and it says Rudolph.
The inside of the letter...
Dear Santa,
All I want for Christmas is for my mammaw to be better. Maybe you only can bring us toys but...You can also pray for her. I hope you do pray for her cause God can answer peoples prayers and he can make her better because he is God and he can do anything. God Bless and Merry Christmas.
From,
Breann
The bottom half of the inside:
It says:
P.S. I hope you enjoy your milk and cookies!
It has a Christmas tree and cookies and milk on the table with an arrow and labels pointing to each.
My daughter's class has just started up a Mathathon for the students in her grade to raise money to go to St. Judes. The goal for their grade is a minimum of $1000.00 and (to tell you the truth Breann's goal at first was set to $500.00...she is REALLY motivated, but I told her lets take baby steps and have faith, work hard, but lets set our goal small to start with so...)Breann's individual minimum goal is currently set to $60.00. What a great cause for us to give for!! For those of you interested, you don't have to send anything directly to us. Instead, to sponsor this (with whatever amount you want...you can give a one time gift and help my daughter reach her goal by clicking on the button below the label "Breann's Mathathon" on the sidebar here at Jessica's Lil Corner...you will then be taken directly to the page made up for the Mathathon fundraising program to where you give your donation directly to them for St. Jude. You then can give whatever amount you wish, support a great cause, and help my daughter reach her goal! No matter how much you give...whether its a couple of bucks or a couple hundred...it is very much appreciated and every little bit helps. Truth be told, she is able to track her progress online...and I would love for her to be able to reach her goal (either the $60.00 or even a couple hundred or if its God's will the $500.00 goal), but we need help from others for that to happen! We will make an update every few days and let you all know how much she has raised with a post right here at Jessica's Lil Corner as well.
I think my daughter said it all on the way home from school this afternoon. She said, Mommy my teacher said what is being done may not mean a lot to a lot of people, but it means a lot to that person who is at St. Judes. She then continued to say over dinner...I got to thinking...a lot of those kids are not at their kitchen table eating dinner tonight. I really want to help them!
Thank you SO MUCH for your prayers and your support in whatever way you can offer it!! Whether you do your part through prayer, financially, or both...God knows who you are and what you are doing...and may you be blessed for it!! :0)
Her and her brother and a dog (but she said it wasn't our dog...it was just a dog). Anyhow...her and her brother are on a set of swings and she even made an angel up in the sky. Adorable, eh? :0)
