Movies, Spinach Dip, and Chips: A Great Evening!

Sometimes date nights/evenings at home with my husband are even better than going out anywhere. Movies, spinach dip, and chips!
 

A few evenings ago, we did just this...we had snacks and sat in front of the TV together.

Sometimes the Small Things are the Greatest!

A lot of times it seems like it is the little things that I seem to enjoy most in life!  Things that the Fall season brings...things like Apple Butter on my toast for breakfast...

Apple Butter Toast is a great way for me to start a Fall morning!
I also appreciate the effort my husband took to get me this freshly picked mistletoe.  Instead of getting store bought mistletoe, since he is in the tree industry (he is an Arborist after all), he climbed a tree and picked this mistletoe for me, and I'm loving it...how great is it that it's freshly picked!



My husband climbed a tree last week and brought me home this mistletoe! :)

I realize that sometimes the small things in life are the greatest!  Apple Butter Toast is delicious. My husband climbing that tree wouldn't have been as easy for me (he does have many years experience, after all), but I would choose his handpicked mistletoe over the store bought any day, it's something so special to me, and it will be something I'll always remember.  I'm so blessed!

Flowers to Make Me Smile

Justin gave me these flowers to try to make me smile before going to make Mom's funeral arrangements. I'm blessed to call him my husband! He's been so very supportive and strong for me during this hard time.

Easter 2014

This Easter was so great! We spent last Sunday with family. We read about the Resurrection in The Bible. Eggs were colored and hid. We cooked out in the park. I also took a lot of photos! There were smiles, laughter, and memories was made.  Such a blessed day!

Lucky in Love?

"You will be lucky in love." That's what my fortune cookie says, but I'm pretty sure I already am, I'm married to the greatest man I could ever ask for!

Mine and Justin's First Hunting Trip!

So...the other day, Justin and I went hunting for awhile...while we didn't kill Bambi, this was a hunting experience neither of us will forget! Let's start at the beginning!



While I had my camo and boots on, I also had my red and white striped,...warm and fuzzy socks (they were hidden by my boots, and they bring me comfort)!


We was then getting ready to leave to go hunting, and the conversation went something like this:

Me: "We have a lot to carry want me to get my 'Thirty-One' (multicolored and polka dotted) bag to carry this in?"

Justin: *chin nearly to the floor* "No, I have my camo backpack. You're not carrying no 'Thirty-One' bag through the woods."

Me: "Oh okay, just thought I'd offer."

We then pull in at the spot we're hunting at and he then sprays us both down with dirt smelling stuff!!

We then walked some distance, up a steep hill (that I was thinking all along I would be rolling back down). I think Justin kinda thought the same thing because he was rather encouraging me not to carry my camera, when I asked...why, he said, "what if ya fall?" LOL Well determined not to fall and to prove a point, I hung my camera around my neck...and I slid a few times, but never fell!!

The outcome of our trip: we saw some squirrels, and I got the picture I have included in this post! We also had our one of a kind hunting trip! :)

Vacation and Anniversary Getaway, March 2012!

Well this past week my husband and I took vacation and we also went to Gatlinburg for a few nights for our Anniversary, while my Mother-in-Law kept the kids for us. We had such a great time.

This past week has consisted of relaxing, watching movies, walking (until we got blisters on our feet) when we shopped at Gatlinburg, riding the sky lifts there, eating a lot of tasty food and spending time together, its been great!!

At the Beginning of Vacation...

Our Gatlinburg Trip


We ate at one of our favorite restaurants, TGI Fridays and I got chicken and mashed potatoes. Then the next night we had burgers at another restaurant.

You will also see in the additional photos below the appetizer we ordered...spinach dip...yummy!!


I also loved the fireplace in our room, and even though it was warm...we lit it for awhile...loved it!!

We also got the paper delivered to our room.  Each morning, we opened up the door and there was a newspaper laying in the floor right in front of our door for us. 








We also went walking around Gatlinburg during the evenings and went shopping and grabbed some pictures.  In the below (additional photos...you will see in the) thumbnails, you will be able to see a view of Gatlinburg that we saw at night.




We went to Smoky Mountain Knifeworks, and in the photos in the Members Area, there are photos where me and Justin both took a pic. next to one of the stuffed/mounted bears there. I thought this photo of the giraffe there was really cool though...giraffes are just really, really cool!



We rode the sky lifts!  I loved the sky lifts...and there was this shop at the top of the hill where the sky lifts took us to...you only could get up to it by riding the lifts and that is where we bought me as well as my Mother-in-Law a coffee cup.

We had biscuits and donuts and juice for breakfast!

We ate fudge...I think Gatlinburg has some of the best fudge...yummy!

Then we had a funnel cake, which Justin didn't really like so it was really me having the funnel cake.

One night, during the week at home, we went out and got the stuff to make ice cream sundaes with the kids.

Anniversary, Vacation, and Relaxation!

Well, today marks mine and my husband's 12th Anniversary...a blessed twelve years it has been.  I am very blessed to be married to a great man who is faithful and hardworking and who loves his family.

I also am very excited to say that my husband and I are taking the week off this week...vacation time it is.  I am not really sure what is on the agenda for a lot of this week, but I am sure I will have a lot to update on my return next week!

Seasons Greetings from Our Family!

Well, this year has holidays that are filled with blessings as well as sadness.  This year is the first year we will be celebrating the holidays without my dad, a very sad time indeed, but I will always hold dear the memories of him in my heart and in my life.  It also will be filled with many blessings, each family member, each friend, and the joy that each of them bring will bring happiness to this time as well.

Our Gatlinburg Trip!!

A few weeks ago I post about my husband and I planning our anniversary getaway...and...we ended up going to Gatlinburg this past week during our vacation.  It was a very nice trip!  We had a lot of fun and the kids had a nice time with their Nanny!

We went up in the Space Needle, went and played putt putt golf (where it was glow in the dark and was mostly an outerspace theme and was SUPER cool), went to the Titanic (which was very neat), did some shopping, and rode the go-carts.  It was a nice, fun, and relaxing getaway!!

I also have to say that I absolutely LOVED the surprise hanging on our door when me and my husband returned...our kids made us a "Welcome Home" sign and hung it up on the door.  Awww...my adorable babies!!
