Happy 11th Birthday, Troy!

20140802_144355sitepic
Eleven!  Wow, where does time go?  It seems like it was just yesterday I was holding you for the first time, hearing your newborn cry, and watching you sleep.  Wasn't it just last week that we attended your Kindergarten graduation?  It was sometime last month that you learned how to ride your bike, right?  While I know that the times I just mentioned (such as you being born, you graduating from Kindergarten, and your first bike ride), were many years ago, it seems like these times just happened.  You're teaching me to cherish each and every day, each and every moment, because it won't be long that you will be graduating high school, and it will be your 11th birthday party that will seem was just yesterday.

When I asked you what you wanted for your birthday cake, it didn't surprise me when you said you wanted a picture of you and your dog, Bo, on your cake.  You are very close to that dog, and him having a birthday that is right after yours and us getting him when he was just a puppy makes you even closer!

With each passing year I see how much you remind me of my dad, your Papaw Robert.  I am so happy that you have some resemblance of him.  You are slow at a lot of what you do...you never get in a hurry to do anything, that is how he was.  While some may think that being slow is a downfall, it most definitely is not, because this gives you the chance to appreciate every bit of life that the Lord gives you instead of rushing through it.

I also see so much of your dad in you as you are getting older.  You appreciate the simple things and you're not too hard to please with most things.  You're not one to become anxious over a lot, and you see the best in everything and everyone, and that's such great qualities to have.

Most importantly, I see the person you are becoming as an individual.  You are getting stronger, and you are  already almost as tall as me.  I have no doubt in another few years, probably around the time you enter into high school, I will have to look up at you, instead of look down to you when we are talking.  I'm also able to see the big heart you have for others and your appreciation for life and everything the Lord blesses you with.  Keep growing strong, not only in this world, but for the Lord and you will never go wrong.

Happy Birthday, my dear boy!  I love you!

Happy Birthday, My Son!

 birthdaysitepic

Ten already...it's hard to believe!  It seems just yesterday we were in the hospital welcoming our baby boy into the world!  Over the last ten years, we've had joyful moments, sad moments, and we've had many blessings with our son.  Some joyful moments...welcoming this new life into the world, Pre-K and Kindergarten graduations, vacations, and so, so many more that could be listed.  Sad moments...the loss of my Dad and Troy's Grandfather, he reminds me SO much of my Dad...from him being so quiet and doesn't get in a hurry for anything to him enjoying the simple things and even enjoying staying home more than going places...that was how my Dad was...in so many ways, I see my Dad in him, and that is such a blessing!  Yes, there have been many happy moments and some sad moments, but the happy times sure outweigh the sad times, and as said before, our lives are so blessed, and I feel they are even more blessed because of our son, Troy.  :)

It fills my  heart with joy to see how Troy has such a kind heart, and he appreciates everything.  Whether it is something as simple as getting an ice cream or something as big as a vacation, he is sure every single evening to say "thank you" to the giver of that gift.  Every night before bed, he is sure to give his Dad and me a hug and tell us good night and that he loves us not only one but sometimes two and three (and sometimes even possibly more) times.  Troy's always one to think of others.  For example, his dog's birthday is the day after his, Troy wanted to be sure that his dog, Bo, got a dog treat or some other gift for his birthday...even if he had to buy it with his own birthday money.  Instead of buying it with his birthday money we offered to buy the treat for his dog, but he said he wanted to buy the treat himself, so Troy was offered the option to do chores around the house and earn an allowance to buy the treat, and he accepted that offer instead.  This boy is always thinking of others, and it warms my heart.

Yep, the big 10, double digits, no longer a single digit age...and our friend told him the other day he would be in double digits until he turned 100...that is something to think about...no longer a single digit for his age...a big milestone for him.  I am so happy, so blessed to be his Mom!  Such a great son and a great person...that is Troy!  Happy Birthday, my Son!  I love you so, so much!

Troys Ninth Birthday Party!

photo1sitepic

It started out busy then started raining and finally the rain slacked off enough to have some fun at the pool, where we had Troy's Birthday Party!  Troy decided he wanted a dinosaur birthday party and we got him a cupcake cake made into a dinosaur, and two sides of cupcakes that were airbrushed to match the cake.  He got lots of toys, clothes, games, and other gifts and he had such a great time (as I think all of us had a super time)!  It is very hard to believe we are now celebrating his ninth birthday, as he will be turning nine next week!  Wow, time can surely go by so fast!!

Troy Turns Eight!

img8085sitepic Well it is hard to believe, my baby is already eight.  We have been busy celebrating his birthday this weekend with a pizza party at a nearby restaurant.  He got all kinds of neat gifts including a Playstation 3 and other neat things.

I am so blessed to have him as my son, and he is growing up so quickly!  I love to see how kind he is while he still is so set in his ways...he is a determined individual and I think it will take him a long way in life.

Awww...my babies are growing up too quickly!!

Happy birthday my sweet baby boy, I love you dearly!!

Troy's Seventh Birthday Party!

troysbdayTroy had a super-de-duper birthday party. He wanted a tractor birthday party, and a tractor birthday party he had!! Some gifts he got included: a new bike, a flat screen tv, money, a icey maker, a play laptop and just a bunch of goodies. Friends and family came by to help him celebrate and it was a wonderful day!

troysbday2The birthday boy is definitely growing up way too fast.  He is my inspiration in SO MANY ways...he is head strong and determined, but has such a soft heart.  I love my baby boy!!

Decorations...I LOVE how the napkin rings, the gift/favor boxes and the invites turned out (I made them myself and I was SO SUPER happy wih them) and so was Troy as he liked seeing his name on the things:

Troy's Birthday Party!!

I know, I know, it's been awhile since I've posted anything.

Anyhow...here is the place to post about my little big boy's birthday party (two of them to be exact). We had a birthday party for him at home for family and friends and we also had him one at school to celebrate with his classmates.

Oh...and do I need to mention that we were coming out of Wal-Mart the other day and I asked him to hold my hand in the parking lot and he tried informing me that he didn't need to hold my hand anymore because he is five!!! What is with that?!? Him and Breann will always be my babies...no matter whether they are five, seven, eight, or eighty!!!

Anyhow...we had Troy a deer hunting party at home (just as he requested) and his grandparents (my Mom and Dad and Justin's Mom), Uncle Jeff, Melissa, and Devin came.
