Our Hiking Adventure
My husband decided to take us to a place nearby, where we hiked this trail at a place where he and his crews had been working. He figured there was something really neat on the trail as he said that he had been seeing a lot of people hiking the trail...and neat it was!
There were these beautiful trees along the way...

But something else was really interesting, there was an overlook...beautiful, beautiful mountains!

We also later went to the lake (as you can see in the picture above).

FUN Snow Day!
We haven't got much snow this year, but one day it snowed just enough for me and the kids to get outside and play just a bit and build some snowmen.

Our Evening of Bowling
This past weekend we took the kids bowling. They were SO super excited, as they have been asking to go for a few weekends now, and we decided to go ahead and take them for a fun, eventful evening. And...might I say...Justin is so much better at bowling than I am, but it was fun!! Plus, the kids had a great time!!

The Kids Trip to the Zoo!
Last Sunday, the kids had a field trip with their youth group. It was SO MUCH fun!! We went to a nearby zoo and then had a picnic at a nearby park. My husband also caught some funny pictures...in two of the group pictures...you will see where the group is taking a photo near the monkey cage and a monkey is trying to get Troy's dollar. LOL

Meet Frosty and His Little Baby Frostella!
Well...we have been getting quite a bit of snow this Winter and the kids have SO wanted to go outside and play in it...so it warmed up just a little bit today (well...not really warm...but compared to what it has been) and Justin and I went outside to have some fun with the kids! Between snowball fights and building snowmen...we all had a blast...even our two dogs had fun!! LOL I think some of us are even tired, because as I type this, Breann is in there on the couch asleep and the dogs are in their beds napping as well. LOLAnyhow...meet Frosty

And...meet Frosty and Frostella (which Breann says is our snowman Frosty's baby)...

Originally, there was just Frosty and then Breann decided to make him a little baby and name her Frostella. LOL
Here is the creation of the snowman and snowgirl!!

Then...among our other adventures...you will notice Breann trying to hug the snowman (which we named Frosty) and Justin behind him trying to throw a snowball at me...but Frosty blocked it with his left hand and Justin ended up breaking Frosty's arm so Justin had to make him another arm. :p

Then...Bo (our American Bulldog) kept trying to get my gloves (which I put on Frosty). LOL
Then...Troy got mad because Frosty's mouth (which was made out of gravels) kept falling off....
But he quickly cheered up and started playing snowball fights with his dad again! And...we all had fun with other things as well...snowball fights...Troy's bike ride, our dogs Maisy and Bo playing in the snow, etc.

Then...we all came inside and the kids had some hot chocolate.
Oh...and look...
The kids footprints...

My snow covered boot...

And even more unusual (than my footprint) is what my husband says is a rabbit's footprint...there are rabbits all over hopping around in the woods, I know, but I just thought it was great I got a picture of this in the snow!! Pretty cool, eh?!?

It was a good, snowy day!

Our Snowy Day Walk
Well it warmed up a bit the other day...as it has been really...REALLY cold lately (I mean like in the teens and twenties)...and since it got into the forties and probably around fiftyish we decided to get outdoors and cure our cabin fever. Justin and I took the kids and our American Bulldog puppy Bo for a walk around the lake. It is one mile around the lake and its beautiful scenery (bridges, a gazebo, ducks, etc.)...we walk here often. The kids (as well as Justin and I) loved having the opportunity to have a day outdoors...at least for a little while outdoors!!

School Time Already?!?
Well the kids (and us) had a busy summer this year...vacations, them going to work with me, Breann's ballgames, taking my mom to Charlottesville, cookouts, birthday parties, Vacation Bible School, oodles and oodles of pool parties, Troy and his dad's fishing trip, ice cream treats, etc., etc., etc. But...they start back to school this morning (around the time that this is being posted up to be exact).
My hopes is that each of them will enjoy the grade they are going into as much as possible. I know neither of them really enjoy school, but I am going to strive to show them how to be true to our feelings but make the most of things (even the things we like the least). They each make such good grades and we are so very proud of them, but I really want them to enjoy school more than what they do. School is something they must do, and my one wish is that they will enjoy it.
My prayer is that God will lead them through the school year in whatever projects they take on. I hope they know that God is always there watching over them and He will lead them in whatever direction they need to go if they will just follow.
I love my babies so much!! :-)

The Kids First Trip to Charlottesville
As I posted awhile back...we have been going to Charlottesville to take my mom for check-ups for the lung transplant list she is on. This was the kids first time of going with us and we swung by and let them see Jefferson's Rotunda, which I think they thought was pretty cool!! :0)

BEAUTIFUL Waterfalls
My husband has known about some waterfalls that are nearby for awhile...I never knew about them until a couple of weeks ago when he got the fine idea to take me and the kids and show us. They are on this BEAUTIFUL trail with bridges and rock wall steps and everything overlooking them. BEAUTIFUL I am tellin' ya!! :)Anywho...these are a few photos of what we saw and more are in the Members Area! Again...BEAUTIFUL!!
Here is a couple of photos of water running off of the cliffs...the pics will enlarge for better viewing if you click on them.

Hide and Seek is Especially FUN...
in the DARK! :)
Last night, Justin, the kids, and me decided to do about eight or so rounds of the game Hide-and-Seek, but with our own twists...we put our headlights on, turned off the lights, and were in the dark. The only person with a light on, upon the time to find us, was the person doing the seeking.
It was especially fun, and we will be doing this outside in the Summer time. :)
Here is a photo of us just as we ended our game...silly faces, and all!! :)

More photos are, of course, in the Members Area!

Another Snow
Suprise, surprise!! We got even more snow this winter (last weekend) and the kids and their daddy and some friends went sleigh riding (while I watched and took pictures).
Here is a photo of the kids with their horse! They just automatically walked up and began petting her and I snapped this one really quick. :)
