Washington County Park Camping Trip

This weekend we went to Washington County Park on a weekend camping trip.  It was a weekend filled with grilled food (cheeseburgers) and relaxation, but it also was so much more than that.  If you'll take a look at the photos I took over the weekend, you will be able to see what I mean.  While this weekend was about good food and relaxation, it also was about other important things as well.  It was a weekend about enjoying God's artwork (the lake, the mountains, the scenery, etc.), as the Lord is the best artist ever!  The weekend was about time with family, whether we relaxed and read a book or played ball outside.  Our weekend was about laughter, and memories, and yes, even Smores!  
As we enjoyed the weekend together, I noticed some of the smaller things (yet things that should be noticed) as well.  I noticed the seashells laying on the table.  These seashells were not just any seashells, these were seashells that Bre found at the lake, and they were neat enough seashells for her to keep (and for me to notice).  The seashells laying on the table was another memory, as I'm trying to remember every moment I possibly can!
I noticed the toys laying on the kitchen table after Troy had a day outside playing.  These were just toys he brought from home, but they weren't just any toys, they were his evening passtime on our camping trip this weekend.
Something else I noticed (and I try not to ever take for granted), is how good my husband is with our kids.  As we all were playing outside, I noticed how easily he went and tossed a ball to our kids.  While I played a game of ball with them as well, I was happy to get some of these moments on my camera/in photographs.  It even brought a smile to my face when the other kids that were staying around where we were this weekend stopped and asked if they could play ball too, so we had nearly a ball team playing ball!  Memories in the making!
We're so blessed.  May I never take what the Lord has blessed me with for granted, I am so thankful!  :)

Hungry Mother Camping Trip

From paddle boats to kayaks, from the Restaurant at Hungry Mother to grilling and making Smores at the campfire, we had a great time!

Pigeon Forge Vacation

This weekend has been great. We've had breakfast to include bacon on the grill and waffles. We also have enjoyed coffee in our camping spot next to the pool. There's been great family time. We even took a trip to Dollywood (and while we were there we saw our friends/neighbors there)! The day has ended with Smores.

We know it's been a great weekend when the last thing one of our children said before falling asleep was "thanks for taking us to Dollywood." Memories have been made and it's been a day filled with fun, smiles, laughter, and more importantly, family! :)

Our Family's First Camping Trip

It's been so much more than a camping trip, it's been an adventure. Our first trip camping has been about more than the new camper we've got, it's been about our time together making memories that will last a lifetime! This week, we've been camping in Wytheville, VA. and Blountville, TN.  It's been about the smiles, the laughs, the days of swimming and fishing, the Smores made, the food ate, the prayers and conversation around our dinner table (and sometimes the prayers and conversation around the picnic table outside), and it's been about our time together as a family. 
We've seen and did many things this week. The Lord has allowed us to see neat creatures (such as deer, rabbits, and ducks) and He's had us to meet many families (including an elderly couple from Florida who gave our kids popcorn and Breann's kitten a toy, a family from West Virginia, a family from New York, and even a family from Norway). Speaking of God's creatures, the family from Norway had two little girls who never saw fire flies until now. Our kids helped them catch fire flies. They also found a frog in the swimming pool. Fun and memories certainly is what this week has been about!

Emerald Isle Vacation, 2013

This summer, Justin, the kids, and I went to Emerald Isle with friends (Benjie, Barb, Gracie, Hunter, Emily, and Kenzie). We all had such a great time (other than some of us getting sunburned really bad)!  We visited different islands there and even went to Fort Macon, which was really neat to see!  All of us had a great time!
