Might I say, Fall (or what some people refer to as Autumn) is one of my favorite times of the year. I love the colors, the festivities (pumpkin patches, pumpkin carvings, corn mazes, etc.), and the sometimes comfortable temperatures. With the season changes I think of scripture, Ecclesiastes 3 comes to mind. As a matter of fact, Ecclesiastes 3:1 reads, For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. THAT speaks volumes to me! I am sometimes a very impatient person. I find myself, especially on weekdays when our family has school and work on the schedule, rushing, sometimes continuously in a hurry to get things done. If we are continuously saying "hurry up," when do we slow down to enjoy the here and now? We don't! Something we need to realize is the "here and now," may not be the "there and then" later (our young kids will be grown up, our health may fail us, etc.), we need to enjoy each present moment, and not rush through it.
I don't think that the Lord intends for us to live our lives in a hurry, and therefore, with the seasons changing, it makes me think of this scripture, which I think has a very important lesson for all of us...I know it definitely has a very important lesson for this busy working Mom of two (which happens to be the season I am in...the one I feel rushed in, but I have learned from this, not to feel so rushed). We need to just live and enjoy the moment...we are in the place we are by our own choices, and God has a plan for our life. We need to just remember to enjoy each day, each moment, each season, as the gift that the Lord has given to us!
