Mom's progress now...she is now able to walk (even without oxygen) and she feels great except she was in quite a bit of pain when I called her this morning. She is in isolation at this point (they placed her in isolation yesterday) due to one of her cultures showing a bug of some kind...they say its nothing of real concern they just want to prolong the antibiotics (as she has been on them basically ever since she has been there) and they feel sure that what they are doing will take care of the issue. Other than the pain, Mom feels the same as she did the day before she was placed in isolation and she just feels relieved to be able to breathe.

Moms Progress...After Surgery!
Well it has been a little over a week since Mom's lung transplant surgery and this photo was taken a day or two before her one week mark, but here she is not on her oxygen anymore. My husband took this picture of me and her together when we went up to stay with her this past weekend.

ReplyDeleteI'm glad to hear that your mom is doing well after her lung transplant. I hope her time in isolation in quick and without trouble. I'm sending positive thoughts out to both of you!
It can be hard to watch your mom go through surgery and recovery. I just helped my mom through what was minor comparatively. I'm glad you are there for your mom.
I saw you are reading "Change of Heart" by Jodi Picoult. I LOVE her books! Are you enjoying that one? I haven't read it yet. I'm working on "Keeping Faith" by the same author now.
Have a great week!
