who bless his heart is pulling long hours at work to help in the power restoration efforts.
We finally have power, water, and even phone back so everything is slowly getting back to where it should be.
Since Justin is going to be working late I am going to go ahead and run down town with the kids and finish up some of the Christmas shopping (which we ordinarily had planned to already have finished, but...since this storm happened haven't been able to) and then I am going to go and buy the food for our Christmas Eve get together (since although we were going to go to my husband's Moms and my parents for the holiday, we aren't going to be able to now and it will be just a nice and cozy Christmas with just the four of us...my husband, me, and the kids). Although it will be a limited time I feel blessed to have my husband at home for the holidays since so many other husbands and dads are here from out-of-state to help with the power restoration efforts and so forth. We also will miss seeing family for Christmas but we will schedule that for a later week and enjoy our visit with them.
I have heard via various sources (the news and elsewhere) there have been a few deaths as a result of this storm...please keep the families in your prayers.
As for the agenda for today...going down town today to get some shopping finished, and when Justin gets home later on we will go to Wal-Mart and finish up as he wants to at least have some input on what the kids gets for Christmas. :)
Let's see...Christmas Eve fingerfoods plans are...
- Poppy Seed Ham Rolls
- Lil Smokies
- Vegetable and Cheese Trays
- Fudge
- Chips and Dip
- Ham
- Turkey
- Stuffing
- Mashed Potatoes
- Cole Slaw
- Gravy
- Rolls
- Green Beans
- Broccoli Casserole
- Pecan Pie
- And the most important ingredient, family!
I can't say right now...Breann is sitting here watching me type. :)
Hope you and your family have a very Merry Christmas!♥
